13 Develop Specifications
Develop Specifications is a mandatory step for any innovation before it goes to being a fully functional prototype, sample, tooling or tool up, production and or manufacturing, as it is the only way to manage and communicate from your end what you need made to another party. Without accurate specifications that include detailed drawings, images, wire diagrams and or a Bill Of Materials (BOM) that detail ‘exactly’ what you need, a supplier and or manufacturer will interpret as best the can what they think you need, which generally is different and equates to frustration in lost time, energy, emotions, costs and the end product not being what you wanted.
